School Closures in Medway

Medway Greens oppose the threat to schools in Medway.

School closures around Medway are probably a cost saving exercise by the Tory council.

There are a growing number of young children who will need school places in the near future. If schools are closed to reduce spare capacity then there will be no capacity for these children in the near future.

It is also the case that class sizes are rising in Medway and we oppose this whole heartedly. Schools with small classes tend to get better results, even without the technology that new or big schools have.

In fact the Green Party see education as a vital function of society, which is why we have a policy of free life long education for all.
